Training Training coaches takes commitment. Coaches sign up for a six-week course in which they are exposed to a range of student writing and to examples of coaches’ responses.
When we start training, we need to get new coaches into the mind of a student writer and to experience the magic of revision-based writing.
We borrowed a concept from Earl Seidman, a professor at The University of Massachusetts in Amherst. We have revised many things in our training manual, but not this first exercise.
