Founded in 1993 by writing specialists and parents Sheila Crowell and Ellen Kolba, The Writers Room Program supplies schools with trained writing coaches to give all students the one-on-one conferencing that every writer needs—and to give every teacher help in reading papers generated by a revision-based writing curriculum.
